Dr. Samir Shah and Dr. Rajendra Shah are actively involved with resident education and research projects associated with the University of Illinois at Chicago. Plastic surgery trainees from the University spend a 3 month block at their office. The current research project is a retrospective study of facelifts with fat transfer. The title of the study is “Fat Transfer at the Time of Facelift from Neck Lipoaspirate: Why Waste it? Reuse and Refill.” The data has been presented at meetings and will be published in the journal.

CURRENT CLINICAL TRIALS
Mentor, a leading medical device company who manufactures breast implants, is sponsoring a clinical trial for their commercially available MemoryGel® and MemoryShape® Breast Implants. Qualified participants in this trial were women seeking silicone gel breast implants for breast reconstruction, breast augmentation or revision breast surgery, or were seeking another type of aesthetic surgery.
The study involves 2,818 patients across the United States. Women involved signed an informed consent, completed a baseline study visit, and will complete online annual questionnaires for 10 years. Women will receive compensation for their time in completing the annual study questionnaire.
