Juvederm®

“Serving Oak Lawn, Orland Park, Chicago and surrounding areas”

From the creators of Botox® (Cosmetic Botulinum Toxin Type A), Juvederm™ was designed to restore the youthful skin that has been diminished by age and other skin changes. FDA approved, , an injectable gel filler, is a “next generation” dermal filler. This smooth consistency of Juvederm™ made of hyaluronic acid, a naturally occurring substance in your skin that helps to add volume and hydration.

As a non-surgical procedure, Dr. Shah gently eases Juvederm™ injectable gel under the skin into the mid to deep dermis of the face to instantly restore your skin’s volume and smooth away facial wrinkles and folds, “smile lines”, or “parentheses” (nasolabial folds – the creases that run from the bottom of your nose to the corners of your mouth). Unlike many collagen-based dermal fillers, Juvederm™ provides a smooth, natural, noticeable look and feel.

There are 3 different types of Juvederm™ injections and Dr. Shah will discuss which areas will bring the best results to your face. The most common areas where Juvederm™ is used are:

  1. Lips
  2. Nasolabial folds (the lines just lateral to the mouth/nose
  3. Marionette lines (the lines just below the lip corners)
  4. Tear trough (area along the orbital rim)
  5. Cheeks

A Juvederm™ advantage is its pliant gel consistency, which may provide a smoother, more natural-looking appearance than some of its more rigid predecessors. According to Dr. Shah, another advantage to using Juvederm™, is it may last longer than collagen fillers, maintaining the improved appearance for six to nine months, if you have follow-up treatment a few weeks after the first treatment.

The best way to decide if Juvederm™ is right for you, schedule an initial consultation with Dr. Shah. He will speak with you about your specific goals and show you how you can obtain a smoother, youthful looking face.
